Aetna's Health Insurance plans will consider coverage on type II Diabetics who have it under control with Diet and oral medication. Applicants must have their weight under control as well as their blood sugar levels controlled with diet, exercise and medication. If the diabetes is controlled with insulin, they will not accept the risk.

Aetna also has a pre-screening procedure where you can submit your personal health information without submitting an application or any premiums. Aetna will then offer you a preliminary answer as to whether they will accept the risk or not. If they would accept coverage, you will receive a preliminary answer as to what the rating would be so you can determine if the coverage would be affordable before applying.

Preliminary answers are not an offer of coverage. The plan would still need to be fully underwritten by Aetna and could include obtaining doctors records and a paramed if neccesary.
